On Sunday, the Premier League will feature the clash between Manchester City and Liverpool , a match that has become the English classic of recent years. But today, Pep Guardiola must face the Reds without Jürgen Klopp. The City manager has nothing against Arne Slot, but he truly misses his German rival.
“At Barcelona and Real Madrid, the noise outside is 1,000 times louder than here. The crowd in the stadium is quite similar; it’s fantastic. We helped City create this rivalry over the last decade. Before that, it was Manchester United-Liverpool, I suppose. What happened during Jürgen’s time means that this was the most important period, because after the first season, the Premier League was between us and them. I always enjoyed that healthy rivalry. I always felt that we respected each other. Jürgen gave me a lot, and I miss him. He taught me a lot about what I needed to do to try and beat him ,” Guardiola said in a press conference.
