A country wants to appeal to UEFA to exclude Israel from European competitions

The Football Association of Ireland (FAI) is set to vote on Saturday on a proposal calling on UEFA to immediately suspend Israel from European competitions. According to Reuters , the resolution, supported by several clubs including Bohemian FC, accuses the Israel Football Association (IFA) of violating two articles of UEFA's statutes. The first concerns the organization of clubs in the occupied Palestinian territories without the consent of the Palestinian Football Association. The second addresses the failure to implement an effective anti-racism policy. The motion also calls on UEFA to establish transparent criteria for the suspension or exclusion of member associations.

Bohemian FC's deputy general manager, Daniel Lambert, said he hoped the resolution would pass, believing that "important rules are being ignored ." The FAI confirmed the vote, while UEFA declined to comment and the IFA did not respond to press inquiries. This initiative comes after UEFA considered, in October, voting on a possible suspension of Israel due to the war in Gaza, before abandoning the move following a US-brokered ceasefire on October 10.
