Liverpool: Virgil van Dijk admits to abandoning Arne Slot

Virgil van Dijk made no secret of his frustration after Liverpool 's heavy home defeat against Nottingham Forest (3-0 at Anfield). The Dutch captain acknowledged a "disappointing and difficult to accept" afternoon , fully accepting the collective responsibility of the team. "We let Arne Slot down , that's for sure, but we also let ourselves down," he said, emphasizing that the champions cannot afford such a poor performance.

Despite the magnitude of the defeat, Van Dijk insisted that giving up was out of the question. He called for self-reflection and solidarity to overcome what he described as a "disaster ." With another match starting on Wednesday, the defender refused to accept defeat: "I'm not going home to cry. I'm going to think about how we can turn things around, and I hope everyone else will do the same ." The time has come to respond in the Champions League.
