Ibrahim Mbaye and Mamadou Sarr choose Senegal over France

A major coup for the Senegalese Football Federation. According to RMC , Paris Saint-Germain youth player Ibrahim Mbaye has chosen to represent Senegal rather than France. Capped 29 times for France's youth teams, the 17-year-old winger has been identified since his early days as one of the brightest prospects in PSG 's academy . He was even awarded the 2024 Titi d'Or, a trophy given annually to the best player in the Parisian academy.

As a reminder, Luis Enrique didn't hesitate to give him his professional debut at the age of 16 last season, and the Parisian coach has often reiterated how much he counts on him. According to RMC , Mbaye will be called up this week by the Senegalese national team coach, Pape Thiaw, for the friendly match against Brazil on November 15th. He won't be the only newcomer, as Strasbourg's Mamadou Sarr will also be called up. A French youth international and a potential future senior international, the 20-year-old has also chosen to represent the Lions of Teranga. Senegal is clearly demonstrating its ambitions.
