Robinio Vaz continues to impress.
Marseille suffered a real setback last night. They were held to a 2-2 draw at home by Angers, a result that will leave Marseille with regrets, even if it wasn't a disgrace. Once again, Marseille relied on young Robinio Vaz to turn the tide. Only 18 years old, but with tremendous audacity and dazzling talent, the Marseille striker scored a brace: the first goal from a Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang assist and the second from an absolutely sublime sequence of play. Robinio Vaz already has 4 goals and 2 assists this season in Ligue 1 , despite only starting twice. Initially seen as a luxury solution to replace Amine Gouiri and Aubameyang, Vaz is now completely shaking up the pecking order, and not just because of the Algerian's injury!
Arne Slot in the crosshairs
It was FA Cup night yesterday in England, and Liverpool 's hangover continues. The Reds were thrashed 3-0 at home by Crystal Palace. And who better than Liverpool's scourge to score a brace? Ismaïla Sarr. The former Marseille player still seems to have a knack for scoring against the Reds, with Yeremi Pino netting the third goal for the London club. In the English press, Arne Slot is once again the target of criticism after Liverpool's sixth defeat in their last seven matches. His highly experimental lineup is being singled out, almost suicidal given Crystal Palace's form since the start of the season. Arne Slot placed his faith in several substitutes, and the usual starters were absent. Once again, Liverpool crumbled defensively; the poor run continues, and Slot will have to stop it very quickly if he wants to avoid an earlier-than-expected departure.
Barça are preparing for life after Lewandowski
Barça is thinking about the future with an aging Robert Lewandowski who is less indispensable this season. As mentioned several times, the Catalan club is monitoring Etta Eyong. The Levante striker is even the priority to succeed Robert Lewandowski ; his release clause is set at €30 million, and the competition is fierce with Manchester United, Manchester City, Arsenal, and Real Madrid. Fortunately, Barça already has other targets, notably Victor Osimhen. He signed with Galatasaray a few months ago for no less than €70 million, but the Nigerian remains highly sought after in Europe. FC Barcelona would love to bring him in, but unsurprisingly, it's a very complicated operation financially.
