Barça: Ronald Araujo turned down four offers this summer

Under contract with FC Barcelona until 2031, Ronald Araujo remains fully committed to the Blaugrana project. According to the daily Sport , despite interest from clubs such as Juventus, Liverpool, Tottenham, and Chelsea this summer, after his release clause was lowered to €60 million, the Uruguayan defender has clearly expressed his desire to stay and establish himself at Barça. He wants to turn the page on recent disappointments in the Champions League and prove his worth in the long term.

Highly focused on his season, Araujo even welcomed his non-call-up to the international squad for the friendlies against the Dominican Republic and Uzbekistan, preferring to focus on his club performances. A leader on and off the pitch, he has been very close to Gavi during his recent injury, the Spanish media outlet reports. He knows that this season is crucial, both to establish his status at Barça and to secure a place with Uruguay for the next World Cup. He is also pleased with the confidence Hansi Flick has placed in him in the defensive rotations. Araujo has played six games in all competitions this season, scoring one goal.
