Thus, this Thursday, August 7, France Football is revealing the 30 nominees for the Ballon d'Or award, one by one.
After announcing the contenders for the various trophies (Kopa, Yachine, and Cruyff) in the women's and men's categories earlier today, we also know the contenders for the women's Ballon d'Or and now those for the men's Ballon d'Or. A trophy for which two names have been prominently featured for several weeks: Frenchman Ousmane Dembélé (Paris Saint-Germain) and Spaniard Lamine Yamal (FC Barcelona).
PSG dominates the nominations
The former won the Champions League with Paris Saint-Germain , playing a key role in their triumph. The Stade Rennais-trained player, who scored 35 goals and provided 16 assists in 53 matches for the Parisian club, has flourished following his move to centre-forward. A Ligue 1 and Coupe de France winner, Ousmane Dembélé is also a Club World Cup finalist with the Parisian club.
For his part, Lamine Yamal is no exception. The 18-year-old winger has won La Liga , the Copa del Rey, and the Spanish Super Cup with FC Barcelona . A Champions League semi-finalist, he has no fewer than 18 goals and 25 assists in 55 matches for the Blaugranas this season. In addition, he was a Nations League finalist with Spain against Portugal.

Other contenders include Raphinha from FC Barcelona, as well as Achraf Hakimi and Vitinha for Paris Saint-Germain. Parisians are also well represented with nine players, including Désiré Doué, Gianluigi Donnarumma, Joao Neves, Nuno Mendes, Fabian Ruiz, and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
