Arriving in England, the striker passed his medical and has just signed his contract with his new team. He is now tied to the Reds until 2030, plus an optional year, making him the sixth most expensive French player in history.

While his move has raised eyebrows for some fans , Ekitike is back in the spotlight by signing for one of the biggest clubs in the world, two years after his failed move to PSG.
Fierce competition awaits him
His time at Eintracht Frankfurt allowed him to bounce back quickly. Initially loaned for six months in Germany, the 23-year-old made himself indispensable to the point of becoming a formidable duo with Omar Marmoush. The Egyptian left for Manchester City last winter, the former Reims player continued his journey alone. He didn't win a major title and stopped in the quarter-finals of the Europa League, beaten by the eventual winners Tottenham, but he leaves Frankfurt with his head held high (64 matches, 26 goals and 14 assists).

Blocked by competition from Mbappé, Neymar, and Messi, Ekitike undoubtedly joined a flagship team not only too early in his career, but also dysfunctional at that time.
