Inter launches Operation Ademola Lookman!

The season could have been fabulous, but it ended in a mess. Inter lost everything in the final sprint: Serie A , the Coppa Italia, and of course, the Champions League. The end of a cycle symbolized by the departure of coach Simone Inzaghi. His successor, Cristian Chivu, must bring in new blood and regenerate the spirits that have been heating up between players in recent weeks, as evidenced by the clash between Lautaro Martinez and Hakan Calhanoglu.

The management has already made progress on renewing the squad, with the arrivals of Luis Henrique, Ange-Yoan Bonny, Petar Sucic, and Nicola Zalewski already completed, plus loan returns (including the promising Pio Esposito). But Inter are clearly determined to make a big splash in the Italian transfer window. New Inter Milan coach Cristian Chivu has asked his management: he wants a striker with a different profile than what he currently has in his squad.

Discussions have begun

His priority is Ademola Lookman . The Nigerian from Atalanta Bergamo would even already have agreed with Inter to join them according to information from Sky Italia , taken up by the entire Italian press this Wednesday evening. A move that seemed out of reach not so long ago, when Lookman had finished his 2023-2024 season with a resounding hat-trick in the Europa League final against Bayer Leverkusen. Remaining at Atalanta despite approaches from the Premier League, he has once again shown great efficiency in Serie A this season, with 15 goals.

However, an agreement will have to be reached between the clubs. Inter Milan has informed Atalanta that it is willing to offer €40 million to buy out the 27-year-old's final two years of contract. But La Dea expects more, at least €50 million. Talks have just begun between the two sides. Inter would be able to spend €40 million without having to sell any players, but by signing Lookman, its attacking wing would be heavily loaded with Lautaro Martinez, Thuram, Taremi, Bonny, and Esposito. A few departures are already in the pipeline, notably Taremi.
