Franck Kessié heading for a return to Italy

Under contract with Al-Ahli until June 2026, Franck Kessié will probably not extend his contract and could consider a return to Italy this summer, after having played there between 2015 and 2022. According to information from Calciomercato , the 28-year-old midfielder has caught the eye of several Italian teams, but the operation will not be easy to complete.

AS Roma initially showed interest in the Ivorian international (81 caps, 11 goals) before quickly dropping the offer. In recent days, Juventus has also inquired about the former AC Milan player. The Old Lady is reportedly considering including Nicolás González to facilitate the move, as the Saudi club highly values the Argentinian's profile. Kessié's very high salary, which earns no less than €18 million, would be the biggest obstacle to a move to the Italian club in the coming weeks. To terminate Kessié's contract prematurely, the Saudi club would be required to reach a financial agreement with the player, which appears complex given the high amounts to be paid.
