The FC Barcelona transfer window is finally moving forward. After solving the goalkeeping problem with the arrival of Joan Garcia from Espanyol Barcelona, Nico Williams was the priority to fill the left winger position. But the Bilbao striker, who had been rumored several times to be close to Barça, unexpectedly ended up extending his contract with the Basque club. A decision that obviously immediately put an end to a potential transfer. And for his plan B, Hansi Flick had also validated Liverpool's Luis Diaz.
But the Colombian, like Nico Williams, was a complicated prospect. Even more so after the tragic death of his Liverpool teammate, Diogo Jota, which logically changed the Reds' plans in the transfer market. So the Blaugranas turned to Marcus Rashford . Returning from a lucrative loan spell at Aston Villa, the England international was still unwanted at Manchester United . So, FC Barcelona made a loan offer, with an option to buy estimated at €35 million by the Catalan press. The idea was accepted by Manchester United.

Marcus Rashford will be able to get back on track
"FC Barcelona and Manchester United have reached an agreement for the loan of player Marcus Rashford until June 30, 2026. The agreement also establishes an option to buy the English striker. The player signed his contract as a Barça player on Wednesday afternoon in a private ceremony attended by FC Barcelona president Joan Laporta, the sporting director and other members of the board of directors ," the Catalan club made official in a statement.
With the arrival of the 27-year-old winger, Barça is strengthening its attacking lineup with a versatile player, something German coach Hansi Flick has been calling for for several months. For Marcus Rashford, who had already been keen to join Barça since last winter, this move will be an opportunity to relaunch his career at a major club after a significant period of uncertainty. With the 2026 World Cup just a year away, it could allow him to return to the forefront of Thomas Tuchel's Three Lions.
