FC Barcelona: Hansi Flick to leave out ten players

FC Barcelona pulled out all the stops yesterday, announcing with great fanfare Lamine Yamal's contract extension until 2031 and the awarding of the Blaugrana's number 10 to the Spanish genius. Now, the Culés can focus on their preseason. Hansi Flick's players have already returned to training, but they will soon be heading to Asia for a summer tour of Japan and South Korea from July 27 to August 4.

There, the Blaugranas will face Vissel Kobe (July 27), FC Seoul (July 31) and Daegu FC (August 4). On this occasion, Hansi Flick was clear. The German will publish a list of 26 players. However, last Sunday, there were 36 Culés who presented themselves for the summer medical check-ups. Ten players will therefore be asked not to go to Asia according to AS and Sport . Who will be the players left out?

Flick will decide

Barring any surprises, one of these ten absentees is likely to be Marc-André ter Stegen. The goalkeeper has been informed that he has dropped to third place in the pecking order. Furthermore, Sport reports that the German has a serious back problem and is considering surgery. If confirmed, he could be out for four months. Having just returned to training, defensive midfielder Marc Bernal is also a doubt. On loan at Girona last season, midfielder Oriol Romeu knows that Barça isn't counting on him this year.

Pau Víctor and Iñaki Peña will not be retained if a concrete project is presented to them. While waiting to know the identity of the ten excluded players, Flick has assured several young players of their presence in Asia. We are talking here about left-back Jofre Torrents, new recruit Roony Bardghji and left winger Jan Virigili.
