Club World Cup: Real Madrid dominates Dortmund with a crazy goal from Kylian Mbappé and will face PSG

This Saturday evening, the Club World Cup continued with the quarter-final between Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund . After PSG's victory against Bayern Munich, it was therefore necessary to know who would join the Parisians in the semi-final. For the occasion, Xabi Alonso decided to line up his current team with an eleven that is gradually taking shape. First strong choice: Kylian Mbappé was still on the bench. On the front of the attack, it is the young striker Gonzalo Garcia, in very good form, who was therefore associated with Vinicius Jr.

For the rest, it was a classic, three-man hybrid defense with Rudiger, Huijsen, and Tchouameni between the two. Trent Alexander-Arnold and Garcia played the pivotal roles, with Guler and Bellingham supporting Valverde in midfield. And very quickly, this Madrid team rolled over Dortmund. Full of confidence, Xabi Alonso's team found the opening goal after 10 minutes of play. And it was the inevitable Gonzalo Garcia who opened the scoring. The Spanish striker received a cross from Guler and thus scored his fourth goal of the competition (1-0, 10th).

Mbappé scores a crazy goal

In the process, with another classy team move, Real Madrid made the break. This time, it was another Garcia, Fran Garcia, who scored. It was originally the Bellingham-Trent duo. The former Liverpool right-back delivered a tight cross, and Fran Garcia headed past Ryelson to score his team's second goal. A goal that definitively put his team in the clear, as Dortmund never managed to disrupt the Madrid defense.

It took injury time for Dortmund to show any hope in a wild finish to the match. After a gross clearance error from Rudiger, it was Beier who fired home a low shot that Courtois could only watch. But there was no need to panic in Madrid, as Mbappé scored a sensational goal straight away. After a pass from Guler, he slammed home a sublime scissor kick to seal the victory for his team and kick off their competition (3-1, 90th+5). But just after, in the last second, Huijsen was sent off for a foul on Guirassy. The Guinean converted his penalty, but the result was not affected (3-2, final score). Real Madrid qualified for the semi-finals and will therefore face PSG in the next round without Huijsen.
