Arsenal love to pick up a loan from Chelsea . In recent years, Peter Cech, Willian, David Luiz, Jorginho, Kai Havertz, Raheem Sterling, and even Kepa Arrizabalaga, already this summer, have all made the switch from Cobham training ground to Shenley, with varying degrees of success. Now it's Noni Madueke 's turn to make the short journey between the two clubs. Having become not unwanted but rather a substitute in the Blues' ever-growing squad, the England international has seen his status increasingly called into question in recent weeks.
He had no real choice but to leave. The winger has just signed a 5-year contract with the Gunners for the sum of €60 million. "We are delighted to announce that England international Noni Madueke has joined us on a long-term contract ," the Gunners stated in a statement. Madueke becomes the 4th signing of the summer after the arrivals of MartÃn Zubimendi, Christian Nørgaard and Kepa Arrizabalaga, also from Chelsea, as signed above. In two years with the Blues, the 23-year-old player will have become an England international (7 caps).
Madueke no longer had a place at Chelsea
Signed from PSV Eindhoven in the summer of 2023 for €35 million, he had a rather satisfactory first year, despite a few minor injuries that delayed his adaptation. Enzo Maresca expected a lot from him this season, to the point of making him a regular starter, but his confidence waned as the weeks went by and he ended up tasting the bench. The reinforcements of Liam Delap, Jamie Gittens, Joao Pedro and Estevao in recent weeks have marked the end of his career.
Talent in abundance.

Just like his appearances at the Club World Cup, Madueke has lost his fluidity and his confidence. He needed a change of environment. At Arsenal , he finds a team that continues to improve season after season. Last season's second-placed Premier League side is still looking for his first English league title since 2004, but his Champions League semi-final, eliminated by eventual winners PSG, is a sign of his rising ambitions. It is now up to the winger to show what he is capable of with his new team.
