As the 2025/2026 Ligue 1 season approaches, the question of who will broadcast the French football championship remains unresolved, just as it was for a long time last year at this time. But unlike last year, the resolution seems more easily accessible, with negotiations progressing well around the proposed 100% Ligue 1 channel. According to RMC , Canal+ will host this new channel, but its role will not extend beyond that.
Indeed, the historic Ligue 1 channel was hoping to co-broadcast the championship, or at least take over the Sunday evening match, but that won't be the case. The LFP has decided to make Canal+ the distributor of the Ligue 1 channel, at the expense of other candidates like Prime Video. Thus, eight out of nine matches will be broadcast by the new channel, with BeIN Sports retaining its weekly schedule.
