FC Barcelona's two cheat codes to help you recruit at will this summer

It's been a constant for years now: FC Barcelona struggles to sign players in every transfer window. The club's financial situation has been critical, and remains complicated today despite some improvements. At the same time, La Liga 's very strict Financial Fair Play rules are also a huge headache for the Blaugrana management, particularly when it comes to registering new arrivals. Yet, this summer, the reigning Spanish champions are planning a rather lively transfer window that is expected to exceed €100 million in spending, all without necessarily making sales.

Joan Garcia arrived for 25 million euros already , a sum that the Blaugranas paid in cash, without payments in several installments as is usual in Barcelona and elsewhere. And the Spanish press indicates that Barça will be able to do the same for Nico Williams, who will cost around 60 million euros. Some media also mention an operation well advanced for the little Swedish prodigy Roony Bardghji, while a reinforcement in defense, a priori at the left-back position, is also expected. All this, without the need for big sales and the players who will leave like Ansu Fati or Iñaki Peña will do so for residual sums, while Barça even allowed itself the luxury of releasing Clément Lenglet and could do the same for Oriol Romeu.

Barça has cash available

How can we explain this new strike force, which, while not exceptional compared to the English big guns, for example, has been unusual for Barça in recent times? First, there's the famous deal with Nike, which brought in a lot of money. Cadena SER mentions €155 million that entered the club's coffers after the deal with the American equipment manufacturer, just in the form of signing bonuses. An amount that won't be entirely allocated to the transfer window, but it certainly helps. And that's not all. Aware of its financial problems, the club has decided to include resale percentages for each player sold in recent years. A strategy that is starting to bear fruit.

As Sport newspaper points out , Barça has already recovered 16.5 million euros this summer thanks to various transfers on which it still had percentages. On Jean-Clair Todibo alone, who became a West Ham player, the club took 8 million euros, and completed the rest with Ludovit Reis (Bruges), Ilaix Moriba (Celta), Alex Collado (Al-Shamal) and Alex Valle (Como). And it's not over since Barça will receive 50% of the sale of the Spanish international Oscar Mingueza, currently at Celta and highly sought after, with a clause of 20 million euros and therefore potentially an additional 10 million for the Catalans. The club will also pocket 50% of the sale of Francisco Trincao, the Sporting player followed in the Premier League, and will also receive a few million here and there in the event that players like Mika Faye (Rennes), Ez Abde (Betis), Junior Firpo (Leeds), Mika Marmol (Las Palmas) or Ferran Jutglà (Bruges) change clubs in the coming weeks. This summer, Deco, Bojan, Joan Laporta and company will therefore not need to count their pennies.
