Jude's younger brother, now playing for Real Madrid, Jobe Bellingham (19) has decided to follow in his elder brother's footsteps. Considered one of the most promising talents of his generation, the England international hopeful took advantage of the summer transfer window to join Dortmund , where he signed a contract until 2030. After more than convincing spells at Birmingham and then Sunderland, the Stourbridge native made his debut for BVB.
Starting for the first time on Matchday 2 of the Club World Cup against Mamelodi Sundowns, the 1.91m right-footer, who played as a number 10 just behind Guirassy and Brandt, particularly distinguished himself during the spectacular victory of Niko Kovac's men (4-3). The German team's number 77, who scored his third goal just before the break, took advantage of a poorly cleared ball by the defense to beat Ronwen Williams with a fine shot after a nice chest control. A perfect start for the new BVB recruit, who arrived for a cheque of 30.5 million euros.
Very good Jobe!
Questioned afterwards, the main player concerned also confided in this successful integration and his beginnings. "It's really good actually. I met the boys and I signed before taking the plane. So I have the impression of really starting to integrate into the team. Obviously, it's difficult to sign for a new club and fly straight away, but a lot of people made it easy for me so, to be honest, it's really nice ." Asked about his flocking - he preferred to put his first name "Jobe" on the back of his jersey rather than "Bellingham" - the young English star justified this choice.
“Well, if I’m really honest, obviously it started when I first signed for Sunderland. I might have thought about it a few times. I thought, ‘Yeah, that would be pretty cool.’ But only when people pointed it out to me. I never thought about it myself. Someone close to me was like, ‘It would be cool if you did that.’ And then someone who’s pretty special to me – a manager I had at Sunderland and Birmingham when I was a kid – said, ‘Why don’t you do that at Sunderland?’ And I thought, ‘It would be cool to have my own name on the back of my shirt.’ There’s not a deeper meaning behind it, but I guess you can find it in that act . ”

Determined to make a name for himself, Jobe Bellingham has, in any case, started his adventure in the best possible way with the residents of Signal Iduna Park. This supports the words of his sporting director, Lars Ricken, who did not fail to praise him upon his arrival. "Jobe is an exceptionally talented player who, despite his young age, already possesses remarkable maturity and game intelligence. We are convinced that he fits perfectly with our philosophy of promoting young talents and giving them the opportunity to develop at the highest level. His professionalism, dynamism and ambition will enrich our team. We look forward to supporting him in his future adventure and are certain that he will play an important role in the future of Borussia Dortmund ." It will now be necessary to confirm this against Ulsan Hyundai, a South Korean club present in Group F.
