AS Monaco attacks André Onana!

This news is somewhat surprising. This Friday, Sky Italia dropped a small bombshell by indicating that AS Monaco, in search of a new goalkeeper, was interested in the profile of André Onana, currently tied to Manchester United until June 2028 (plus an optional year) and who has not failed to cause controversy throughout the season, particularly during the double confrontation against OL in the Europa League.

Aware of the difficulties encountered in this position in recent months, the Principality club - which is currently counting on Radoslaw Majecki (36 goals conceded in 23 matches, 5 clean sheets) and Philipp Köhn (24 goals conceded in 23 matches, 8 clean sheets) - hopes to take advantage of this summer window to unearth the ideal profile. A surprising target, however, given the level of play displayed by the 29-year-old Cameroonian during the 2024-2025 season.

A surprising target

Not always reassuring, the former Inter Milan defender was even relegated to the substitutes' bench by Ruben Amorim. This was hardly enough to scare the Monaco board, which seems to be seduced by the CV of the Nkol Ngok native. A Cameroonian international (48 caps), Onana is currently valued at €25 million according to specialist website Transfermarkt. A substantial sum that could even soar a little higher given the player's contractual situation.

While waiting to find out whether the AS Monaco management will take this matter further or not, Manchester United has, for its part, already taken precautions by evaluating several profiles to replace the 1.90m right-hander. Among these, we find in particular Marco Carnesecchi, currently playing for Atalanta. One thing is certain, between Paul Pogba - also in Al-Ittihad's sights - and André Onana , AS Monaco has decided to move up a gear...
