Luka Jovic and Milan : it's (almost) over. This Saturday, Gazetta dello Sport announced that the 27-year-old Serbian center-forward will be leaving the Italian club. With his contract expiring in nine days, the media outlet explained that the Rossoneri had an option, activatable until June 20, allowing them to extend the player's contract for another year. But that date has now passed, and the 8th-placed player in the last Serie A season has not made any moves.
Milan reportedly had a disagreement with the player: the latter wanted a two-year extension, which Igli Tare and Massimiliano Allegri, who arrived as sporting director and coach respectively, were not prepared to offer. Jovic is therefore preparing to leave Milan through the back door. Arriving from Fiorentina at the very end of the 2023 summer transfer window, the striker, who has stints with Real Madrid, Frankfurt, and Benfica, has never managed to convince at the San Siro. Sidelined this season, he managed to regain playing time from March until the end of the season during Sérgio Conceição's time on the bench. But that wasn't enough for him to make an impression. During his time in Italy, he managed to win a Super Cup, winning against Inter in early January. As for his future, he would be tracked by Cruz Azul , in Mexico, and Botafogo , in Brazil.
