Luka Modric's surprising confession in an interview

Luka Modric is definitely not the kind of footballer you'd describe as "trendy," with the kind of star power you'd expect. The former Real Madrid player , now at AC Milan since this summer, remains quite private, and you have to dig a little to find out more. In an interview with Corriere della Sera , the 40-year-old Milan midfielder made a rather unusual confession: "I like normality. A normal family, a normal life, the little things. I don't feel unique. In my life, I've never thought, not even for a second, that I was superior to anyone else. If I hadn't been a footballer, I would have liked to be a waiter."

A career change later on? What's certain is that the Croatian believes in his abilities: " I was good. And I enjoyed it. I studied at the Borik Hotel Institute. The first year, we worked at the Marina di Zara restaurant, where wedding lunches were held. I was used to serving drinks; and people drink a lot at Croatian wedding lunches. The only thing I didn't like was washing up." With experience and talent far above average in the center of the court, the global star is still capable of serving caviar, and at his age, that's remarkable.
